A Century-Old Tradition
The Kla Ha Ya Days festival was first held in 1913, making it one of the longest-running community events in Washington State. The name “Kla Ha Ya” comes from Chinook Jargon, a historical trade language used by Indigenous peoples and settlers in the Pacific Northwest, meaning “Welcome” or “Let’s have fun”—a perfect reflection of the festival’s spirit.
Originally established to celebrate Snohomish’s rich agricultural heritage, Kla Ha Ya Days has evolved into a lively summer festival that continues to honor the town’s history, community spirit, and traditions.
